What would you recommend for a receiver pack on my evo?
I just want something good. Price is not really a big concern. I just want something that works!

2 cell A123, li-po or li-on and a regulator set to 5.5 volts.

Or the old fashion simple setup would be a 4 cell KR1700 or FUAP 1950 or Elite 2000 - packs like that (see Cheap Battery Packs)

The cheap packs were fine for me - for a while. After a few years, though, I got sick of having to wait while I recharged the receiver packs. So I went to Lithium + Regulator, and am quite happy with that. A123 batteries can be nice - really fast charge rates are possible, and it's a pretty forgiving chemistry.

I had put the battery in the compartment underneath the radio tray- and it was a PITA to have to get the battery back out to replace it, so I just waited for the battery to charge at the field. (I did replace them as necessary, of course.)

It's easier to get the heli to balance with the battery on the nose tounge

I use a 3S 1250 8C lipo and a cc bec capable of 10 amp peaks, works great so far, i'll fly half a dozen times and only use about 1/4 capacity. of course a 3S 1250 is about the same as 2800mah @ 4.8v through a switching regulator.
Also, this setup is VERY light, about 3 ounces for the whole deal.
Also, it only cost about $30 for the battery and BEC.

My blade mCX can outfly your Aurora!! (in a 1' x 1' x 1' box) :)
