I just received my Stratus kit and will start assembly tonight. The kit does not have a canopy with it, but thats OK since I'm not a big fan of the Stratus can. Sooooo the quetion is, is there any other canopy that would work? I was going to try the Raptor 90 or the Synergy N9. I know there will be considerable hacking and hewing involved. Anybody had experience with this? Thanks.

Fitting an R90 canopy would easily shave a few ounces. These MinAir canopies weigh a TON!!

.....although it could cause some COG problems.

My Synergy canopy would fit with very minor mods on my Spectra, I'd bet it would be almost perfect on a Stratus since the Spectra and Stratus use the same canopy. The area where it needs trimming on the Spectra is the bottom to accomodate the huge baseplate on the Spectra, your Stratus is shorter, I'd bet it'd drop right on with you only drilling 2 new holes for the front stand offs.

Get in touch with Bil @ Arizona Helis and see what he can do for you, I think his MA canopies are lighter than the ones from MA.

Whats up with no canopy in the kit? Tim cutting some more cost out of the kits?

If your talking about the R90 canopy, I agree. The Stratus canopy looks much much better than that. But to each his own. The canopy for the Razor is one of the ugliest canopies I ever owned and what does MA do for the new nitro 50, use the same design canopy. The new 90 they had at the XFC looked like the same design also. BUTT UGLY

Man I really opened a can of worms! How mad would people get if I tried to fit a Blade CP canopy on my Srat? LOL. Stan I knew ahead of time that there was no canopy in the kit, they said it would be a little while. Told them to ship without it. I think I'm going to order a Synergy cano and make it work. Thanks for all the help.

I agree with QuantumPSI, you have committed a mortal sin by putting any canopy but a Status canopy on a Stratus.
I just hope it still flies.
