I was ordering a spindle for my Caliber 5 from Chris at RCHeliworks, and I recalled seeing a hollow main shaft upgrade somewhere. I asked about it, and they happened to have one. The order shipped out today, and I am kind of excited, because my Cal is pretty light already, and this is gonna make it even better.

Does anyone have any experience with this shaft, that could tell me what to expect? Thanks Tom

I made a mistake once, but I was wrong?

I wouldn't expect to see any difference in performance. In the grand scheme, you're losing only a very small percentage of the overall weight of the helicopter by simply replacing the main shaft with a hollow one.

The heli probably weighs in the neghborhood of 7.5 - 8.0 pounds dry. You're removing maybe a couple of ounces at best, and from the CG. That's just a hair over 1% weight savings, figuring an 8 pound heli, and a 2 ounce savings....
