Radio - Servo - Gyro - Gov - Batt > Question for people that opened their 9Z case (Antenna issue)

i pulled my antenna today , and it went all the way in remained in my hand .... the screw still attached to the bottom of the antenna.

Question now is , do i need to open the radio and fix that ?
or can i somehow put a washer on the bottom of the antenna from the battery compartment and that will fix it ?

i'm never opened one so i'm not sure how the antenna wire is connected to it ? is it connected to the "ball" mechanism ? if thats the case i can still fly with the antenna stuck in for a wile. or is it attached to the antenna itself somehow.

thanks Dan

On a 9Z the antenna has to be pulled out to make contact and get full range. Only way to put back into case is carefully and tape on the end of a screwdriver helps hold the nut and star washer in place while you screw it back in. Difficult to do but it can be done.
