They are single stage so I dont have to mess with a flat clear although I did use some of their flat clear and sprayed over testors olive enamel in a can and it turned out nice on my friends Bell 47.

Paint choice

Go for the lighter one, difficult to see in a photo, but the full size I have seen are usually washed out and sun bleached

Olive Drab

Hey Tap or Snap,

I'd have to say the first one is a closer match, but it depends on which Huey you're modeling it after.

Thanks for the help guys. Number 1 was my choice too. PPG has the original colors but its 2 stage basecoat-clearcoat. They sell a dead flat clear but only by the gallon. The other option is to use ppg basecoat and use Kustom colors quart can of flat clear. I guess its a matter of preferance. I can live with the color not being 100% exact. I like the fact that Kustom colors sells quarts and they have alot of colors both single and 2 stage. The VW Herbie car in my gallery is painted with Kustom colors base-coat and clearcoat, not sure who makes their paint.

Is your Huey nitro, gas, or electric? Other than electric a single stage clear will most likely be eaten off by the fuel.

Its modified for electric, however you mentioned a single stage clear which I can only think comes in a spray can. All the paints and clears I mentioned use a hardner and reducer and sprayed with an HVLP gun, unless I missed something here I thought all catylized auto paint was fuel-proof and only the stuff in a spray can wasnt.

I should have been more clear. That is what I meant that a single stage is not fuel proof. Monokote does have a fuel proof clear in a spray bomb but is good only up to 15% nitro.
