I just recieved an Ace tg-600 and the manual says to mount it on it side. Does it really matter if it is on its side ot flat

The gyros have center axes, It has to be vertical or it won't work.

Yea but the inside of the gyro maybe made different. I have a Telebee Heading Hold and it looks like it is mounted on it's side, but actually when mounted like that the gyro is working properly. If the instructions say to mount it like that then I would try it like that!

As helinut points out, every gyro is different.

For the GY-401 gyro's, they have to be mounted laying flat/horizontal. For my ESKY HH gyro, it has to be mounted upright on it's side.

So YES, it does matter...mount it the way the instructions tell you.

Thats one of those strange things, the gyro holds the tail no matter the position of the heli, so logic says that it should't matter, but it does.

When all else fails , read the instructions
