For those who are using the AR7100R receivers, I would recommend checking the antenna on the receiver itself to make sure it is still attached the board and not just being held in place by the rubber boot. I have two of these receivers and after a couple of flights on them the antenna has broken free from the board on each.

I was having strange problems with the servos jumping around in flight that I could not seem to recreate on the bench - until I touched the antenna. I opened the case to discover then antenna was not attached to the PCB. So I pulled the other receiver and checked it. Same thing. Kinda pissed that two of my birds are out of commission now with bum receivers, but at least they're still in one piece. Neither one of my AR7100R's has more than ten flights on them. That solder point seems especially weak. As both of mine broke I would be surprised if others don't have this problem as well. I only hope you catch it before it's too late.

Thanks for the heads up. I thought they put the rubber boot on to solve that problem?

I don't know about the boot, but if you open the receiver, it doesn't look like there is much around the solder joint with the antenna to protect it from vibrations.

I'd hot glue the wire to board and see if that helps. I mean to do that while its still soldered on.

Man, I miss the eighties.

With the antenna on the middle board, not going to be as simple as the other receivers to fix. You should call Horizon and see what they say. With a brand new receiver (only been out for a very short time) I bet they take care of you, if not then let us all know.

And yes since other receivers had the same problem, you would have thought that they fixed this in the brand new design.

Yeah, I had hoped I could resolder it myself but it pretty tight in there. Had it been on the top or bottom board it would have been easy. I will be calling Horizon on Monday. I'm sure that they will replace or repair them, but if they're no better than they were when I got them new I am not going to have a lot of confidence in them. I guess dumping a lot of hot glue on the connection might help.
