Radio - JR & Spektrum DSM > DX7 lost signal to receiver?

I have been flying the T-Rex 600n with the DX7 for over 200 flights and suddenly the heli will not pick up the transmitter signals so I had to rebind it.
After rebinding the heli seems ok BUT I am looking for the reason that I had to bind it again before I take it up for fear of losing signal.

With the DX7 it is quite easy to accidentally have the bind button on the back touching something (laying on the bench) when the power switch is turned on. It doesn't have to be held for any time at all - if the button is pressed when the power is switched on, for less than a second even, then the Tx will loose its bind to that Rx and start looking for another. Since it doesn't see any Rx in bind mode, that model is unbound.

Yes -- make sure your bind button that sticks out beyond the back of the DX-7 isn't activated when you turn things on. You wouldn't be the first person to experience "losing your bind" simply because the button happens to be pressed on the back of the TX. Seems the design could have recessed that button just a bit, or maybe have put a guard ring around it.

Yep, the most common reason by far for needing to rebind is accidently pressing the bind button during power on. All it takes is leaning your tx the wrong way against or on something.

It seems they are addressing this on new hardware- the 12X bind button is recessed thankfully.

add those aftermarket legs/stands

and you wont have it happen again.. it protects the button nicely
