Vario Sky Fox - Benzin - Evolution - Xtreme > Bezine Pitch Curve

Finally got my Vario back together...Heli seems to REALLY stay in the sky compared to nitro birds...

Using a wide grey scale (jet ranger ) blade and a hover speed of 1150 (sky tach) I tried to set a flight mode,,, -4/5/10

Bird just hangs in the air when coming out of throttle into negative pitch,,Once falling ....its falling Not in a controlled 45 degree kind of approach Almost have to push the nose over to get decent,,,

Have I just got something set wrong in this curve...Or is the flying ALOT different than nitro in a flight mode....

Appreciate your input and suggestions

Billj,, I had the same problem flying my Vario Benzin for the first couple of times,, I had my throttle curve set to low, and after i raised my lower curves, and kept the throttle up some on decent, it helped,, Yep these birds like to stay in the air, but once you get used to it, It's not bad,, just differant,,,XGM/VGM

My throttle curve on FM 1 is set to match the 1150 hover Let s call it 50/50/100%,,,I would expect the head speed to increase as pitch falls below the hover point and towards 0 and negative... Thus ..I felt the heli should start to decend in a controlled manner...

Pulling back collective is lowering the airspeed but causing large delay in starting decent.

You might start off by lower the nose first, and try flying it down??? That might help... XGM/VGM

Pitch Curve/Throttle Curve

As stated, it does take a few flights to get used to the "floaty" feel of one of these especially with the 810's!!!! But your set up will be a bit different then the nitro heli...
Find your hover position in the pitch curve and then work the positions below that a couple of points lower at a time and then try the heli out in a descent.... I am running a 10X and my pitch curve is set at: L= 6%, 1= 20%, 2= 26%, 3= 34% (hover), 4= 45%, 5= 59%, H= 90%.... I know the numbers will have no meaning but I am giving them to you as a reference as to how to smooth out your descent...so work your way down from the hover... it doesn't take much to make things happen with those "big" wide blades!!!!
And the same on the throttle curve, here are my settings:
L= 0%, 1= 30%, 2= 34%, 3= 36% (hover), 4= 42%, 5= 62%, h= 100%
Again the important part are the positions and how close they are from hover down.....
I hope this will help steer you in the right direction.... once you have it set properly, the hs will stay within 10 rpm of your settings and there will be enough "low" pitch for you to make a perfectly smooth descent without the engine sounding like it is shut off and plenty of pitch to "catch" it at the bottom.....
If you would like some actual pitch settings at these locations, let me know and I could open it up later and take some for you..
Also I would increase you hs to about 1200 to 1250 (no higher) that also makes a BIG difference on the handling of the machine and once you get the feel of it there, then you can go back down if you like...
Good Luck, Stan

If there is a cure for this, please don't tell me about it!!!
