| First flight today was looking really effen good. My YS 90 was tuned to perfection and my Aurora was running smooth, quiet and absolutely no vibrations. I attempted a piro-flip and the tail let go just as the heli went knife edge. No big deal, I hit throttle hold, got it upright and level autoed it in about a hundred yards away. I put the transmitter down, emptied my shorts and ran out to retrieve my Aurora.
I quickly inspected everything and found that the aluminum torque tube failed near the rear bearing. Last weekend I landed a little too close to the curb and chewed my new carbon tail blades into nubs. I was amazed to see that the tail drive gears survived with no damage. The torque tube is something to check if you strike a tail blade.
I saw on the RC-Direct website that there is a part number for a carbon torque tube assemby, AV00-200-560 http://ecsvr.com/RC-Direct/shopexd.asp?id=1303. I'm gonna order one of those.
