Scale Model RC Helicopters > Which Paint Would you Recommend For A Hirobo Super Cobra?

I would like to finish my Super Cobra body in the current Marine paint scheme (light ghost grey & grayish blue). Which type of paint would work best for durability and a scale look? Would you apply the paint with an Airbrush or use rattle cans? The decals which came with the kit are a sticker type, what is a good source for having some current Marine markings made up? Thanks for your help and tips.

That can't be good!

I'm using auto grey sandable primer, rattle can stuff, with auto colors(The local auto paint shop has library of colors) and then a 2 part flat auto clear. Local body shop does the clear cote.
Not sure about markings yet, still got a bunch of rivets to do....

Thanks for the tips! I have heard good things about Cali Graphics.
flubarless, do you have an auto body paint supply mix up the desired color in a rattle can and shoot it yourself or do you have someone shoot it for you? I hear that clear coat can be nasty from a health standpoint. Which type of clear coat do you like? I'm thinking a "dull" type would work good for my grey color.
Thanks again all for your input!

I have them mix it in cans and spray it myself, then the body shop guy does the 2 part for me when he is doing another smaller project, works for both of us, he gets less waste and I don't need a resperator and stuff, the 2 part is really nasty.

You can get the clear in gloss or flat.
The paint goes on flat either way.

Good luck, don't forget to take pictures
