Hi there my name is Julian Landa, I am from Mexico. I bought One raptor 90 std in some time ago, I assembled beutifully, it looks great. I have this problem, when I want to crank it up, it is extremely hard for the starter to move the engine, The problem is not the starter, or the engine, the thing already flew for 5 minutes and I turned off to recalibrate, since then is very hard.

I already dissassembly 2 times from the engine to the starter pinion, AND NOTHING is wrong!!!!. Bearings rotate normal, engine es powerful good compression but normal (everything is new, don't think is flooded), clutch is not stick in to the clutch bell. I am getting stress about it. Do you think is a miss

Well it si just a quiestion, may be you heard something like this. You have any ideas, here where Ia ma staying in Mexico there is no model club, so nobody to discuss

I have the os91 c-spec pumped in my 90 se i find if i give it a turn over with no fuel or glow plug first to free the engine (old oil left in it) up then start it ,it starts every go.

if its to rich you will get hydro lock in the engine.so dont force start it or you will bend the con rod.also i use a cordless drill to start my heli 18v you will need a good starter for it.

cheers,Gary

starting

hi,,,,,woodster is totaly right...but the other thing may be your starter.what starter are you using.....like woodster said we need to use power drills to start our 90's.or a custom 24v starter....you might have got lucky with you first start on a 12v starter assuming you used a 12v....i would realy look at your starting gear,as you said you have checked the whole thing with no anomalies.....hope you sort it julian

First thing to check is the glow plug, engine head bolts, crank bolts .

There is the old trick off undoing your glow plug a bit to take the compression down then screw it in tight when it has started

i would also set your needle to factory settings and add about 1/4 turn on from that for a starting point.

If you remove the glow plug and it still turns over too hard, then the fan came loose and backed out.
