Thanks, Timmy. Acting your age again I see....

Yup, mature, rational and logical . . . unlike yourself, with the condescending cutesie names and all . . . maybe time for your afternoon nap? Note that nowhere have I engaged in anything but a pure technical dialog on this topic, other than to respond to some of your inappropriate attitudes . . .

And I didn't come on here to bitch - if you think I have, you apparently have not been reading very closely.

I stated that "I wish it could have in flight on/off", and Tony offered me a workaround. Bob then chimed in with an offer of a software change, and I OFFERED him some additional suggestions to consider that might improve the produce.

Note that NOWHERE what I complaining . . . rather having made a lot of very positive comments about the product as it stands . . . but suggesting ways to take it "that little bit farther" in it's capabilities. The detailed dialog came into play since some folks didn't understand what I was saying, and some offered alternate ideas that I was batting around out loud . . . so anyone who was trying to understand where I was coming from would be able to understand, and make an appropriate value judgement.

Show me one place where I said the MG was bad/crap/poor/etc . . . rather than simply offering ideas for enhancements that might be considered in future software revisions . . . which will obviously occur, since there are extra hardware ports on the device currently not in use . . . the question is not so much as *if* they will be implemented but rather *when* and for *what purpose* . . . the latter being the item I am speaking to.

so, I am going to back out of this thread . . .

Since you insist on having the last word it's all yours. I have better things to do with my time.

Thank you . . .

If anyone else has misinterpreted my intentions here (and if anyone is still reading this thread . . . ) my apologies.

Bob - hopefully my comments were seen as intended as "brainstorming" for potential future enhancements, and not just an irritation. I *really* do like your product . . . .

And to all, I apologize for letting this thread get so out of hand.

I am curious, though, if anyone is still reading this thread, am I the only one that sees value in these ideas (well, EricF already chimed in, so there's one) or am I out here flying solo?

I see some value in it BUT I'm not willing to sacrifice the best that the Multigov has to offer... speed. Proportional channel reading to set headspeed requires the governor the check at what % the channel output is, convert that to headspeed and adjust it according to what its reading. each cycle becomes slower and soon enough you'll have something as fast (should I say slow) as the GV-1...

Keep in mind that the MultiGov is already reading that channel to determine what value it is set to to decide which speed setting to apply. so the polling loop is already there and running. Perhaps the sample rate would need to change (but not likely, since speed changes are rarely done in realtime - note the lag in switching speeds . . . ) so I somehow have a hard time seeing how it would add that much overhead . . . .

What we have now: Sample channel -> pick register -> regulate speed.

Proposed: Sample channel -> pick register, and skew from center value if channel shifted -> regulate speed.

Not a lot of difference, or so it would seem . . .

And hopefully, these kind of items are not running at 100% processor utilization right off the shelf . . . with any luck, there are some free cycles for future enhancements, etc. IE, they managed to find enough free processor time to implement a totally separate function in mixture control . . . which has got to be far more complex than anything suggested in this thread.

two processors, two different functions.

The MG pro really has two processors, and not just one timesharing the functions? Impressive . . . I would not have thought so in such a small package . . .
