Is anybody out there flying a raptor 90?? If so what are your thoughts? I have a sixty and love it to bits and was thinking of a ninety for the summer period.

Just wondering

CCRC club member has a Raptor 90

I stopped in at the CCRC club in Atlanta last weekend and guy (I didn't get his name) was trying/setting up his up.

They said that there was @ 30 heli pilots registered. If anyone from CCRC is reading this....the gentleman was driving a red dodge durango.

I saw it fly a few circuits and loops.

I know this doesn't help much, but maybe someone from CCRC will see this and be able to help you out.

Rap 90

Hello And.

I have been flying a raptor60 with a OS91 for a few months now and I love it.
It is very fast and powerful, and handles the extra power just fine.
Mine has the long boom, 7.75 gear ratio, 700mm TG blades, 550cc tank. Have tried 30% and 15% nitro but I am currently using 0% nitro. The engine runs smooth and it does not seem to bog down even with 0%.

The stock frames and clutch (with a new liner) seem to stand up to the abuse well, about 50 tanks now.

Loops are so large, I almost loose sight of it at the top.
Love it, highly recommended.

Vegar.

I'm running an OS91 in my prime R60v2. Here are my changes, the ones with an ** I consider required, the rest optional.

**Bigger fuel tank. TT's tank is overpriced so I velcroed a 24oz Sullivan in the frames.
**TT Metal cooling fan because the plastic one sux.
**Frame reinforcement. Either the CF frameset or TTs overpriced aluminum back frames.
**Metal A arms and flybar ovals. Just in case.
**CF or FG blades 680 to 690 mm.
**pinion gear - either 11 tooth for 8.45:1 or 12 tooth for 7.75. I use the 12 tooth for 1750 headspeed.
**New clutchliner installed for minimum gap.

GV governor
Ricks O ring in the rotorhead upgrade
CF boom supports and fins
Tail servo boom mount and CF pushrod
Metal washout base
Uniflow tank setup

Things I may get later if TT gets off their a$$ and prices drop:
Heavy duty clutch
Metal swashplate
V paddles
Long boom and 700 blades

Why did I go to a 90 and muffler from my 61 and Muscle Pipe? Less noise, easier to tune, don't have to squeeze every erg of power out of the engine, variable headspeeds, engine doesn't sound like it's going to explode any second, no bogging the engine when I do something stupid, lower nitro fuel and the big johnson muffler makes all other helis feel inadequate.
Power feels good - I want more. :-)
