With the odd underslung belt to counter shaft to main gear set up in the Acrobat (and ASI Mongoose, which is what I have), how do you determine the gear ratio?

Thanks,
David

Acrobatic with 1630 rotor is 6.72

Acrobatic with 1780 rotor is 7.53

You multiply all of the ratios to get the final ratio.

Count the teeth of each paired set and divide the low number into the high number. That's the ratio for that pair. Do the other pair the same way and then multiply all of them together.

Here is the answer from the German sitefor model 8302

Model 8304

Only CHANGE you'll get is what's left in your pocket.

Work a division equasion of the toothcounts and then multiply them. If the bottom (belt section) is 22t and 40t then that ratio is 1.81. Now if the top (gear section) is 87 on the main gear and 21 on the pinion, then the secondary ratio is 4.14. Now let us multiply 4.14 and 1.81 to get a 7.49:1 ratio.

Your bottom end is probably 1.81, your top end will need to be counted to calculate ratio.
