Hootowl, you make me laugh. Those pictures are great. Me thinks you have way to much time on your hands. You need to do a "Proof the moon landing was faked" one now. Or even a Mars shot. Good stuff.

To put things in perspective, and to leave Katrina out of it. In the past week or so, I have seen nothing but people loading sand into sand bags. I have seen people working side by side trying to save what they can. I have witnessed the same here in Oklahoma when we got hammered by 300mph tornadoes a few years ago.

Does the media look for news, I say yes. They would rather show looters than people working hard to save there livelyhoods. And this is a good point, if the media wants to show humanities bad side, how come they are finding it so hard to do now, maybee because it is not happeneing in this case. I don't know, but it is something to think about.

Now to race, in all the news reports I have seen of late, I have not seen one person of the collored race filling sand bags. Is this race, racial profiling, or just the simple fact that the neighborhoods in danger have a very small black population. You decide.

Hootowl those pictures are freakin hilariuos !!! The truth remains the truth between Katrina victims and the Iowa victims .It was clearly evident what the New Orleans stay behinds ,motive was.Issues about who was helped and when and how fast they were helped is bogus bs.Everyone in need of help received some sort of help somewhere along the catastrophic time line .The horsesh!t that went on during Katrina was self inflicted.When people lie,cheat and steal all their lives what does one expect them to do in trying times like Katrina,help with cleanup ? The good people of the hurricane ravenged area moved their selves out of dodge like the government told ALL the people to do a week in advance.I see caring,loving,helping people of the midwest doing what's correct,first thing being ....protecting life , not hanging around to steal tv's ,beer,nike shoes,clothes.So if some people view that as "racist" that's your choice,I refer to it as living as one should live.It seems to me the only "racists" are the ones that think their race did'nt get treated as they thought they should not matter what skin color or nationality.Maybe old Louis and his close friend Jesse should round up cousin Jeremiah and go around the country educating folks how to deal with trying times like Katrina,not how to further commit crimes in those times.Keep the burrhead pictures coming hoot I love 'em !!!

That sure is heartening, the most powerful nation on the planet was overwhelmed by a flood that they pretty much knew was coming.

I kept watching and thinking the National Guard was going to swoop in in helicopters at any minute, loaded with water and food. Still to this day I wonder why the National Guard never showed up.

I still don't get why everyone is obsessing over that friggin beer. It was crap anyway. Its not like the store owner was going to return after the water receded and flick on the lights and business as usual. Everything had to be tossed out anyway as it was unfit for sale, so what does it matter if looter dude got it or they hauled it to the dump the next month?
And for every 1 person that was taking advantage, how many were doing the right thing and just trying to survive?
People like WillyS want to blame each and every one of them.

Where are all of the Hollywood celebrities holding telethons asking for help in restoring Iowa and helping the folks affected by the floods?

Where is all the media asking the tough questions about why the federal government hasn't solved the problem? Asking where the FEMA trucks (and trailers) are?

Why isn't the Federal Government relocating Iowa people to free hotels in Chicago?

When will Spike Lee say that the Federal Government blew up the levees that failed in Des Moines?

Where are Sean Penn and the Dixie Chicks?

Where are all the looters stealing high-end tennis shoes and big screen television sets?

When will we hear Governor Chet Culver say that he wants to rebuild a 'vanilla' Iowa, because that's the way God wants it?

Where is the hysterical 24/7 media coverage, complete with reports of cannibalism?

Where are the people declaring that George Bush hates white, rural people?

How come in 2 weeks, you will never hear about the Iowa flooding ever again?

How much help will Iowa receive from any of the organizations we see on tv asking for donations for people in other countries? How many of those countries are there to help us? Where are our good friends in China, Canada, Mexico?

The FEMA Response: One of my friends owns a trucking company and has contracted 4 of his trucks to move bottled water for FEMA. Each truck is paid $1000.00 a day, unless the truck is in operation. When in operation, they get the $1000.00 plus $4.50 a mile.

What are they doing? Idling and waiting for FEMA to tell them to pick up water and take it where it is needed. To date, he has profited over $40,000.00(in 3 weeks) after paying his expenses. Our tax dollars at work.

Oh, and there is a convoy of over 100 trucks sitting and waiting, just like my friends trucks. You do the math!
