e-Electric Batteries & Chargers > Got an Hyperion Charger EOS0610i; problem charging at 5A a 5000mah Lipo...

Hello everyone,
I got an Hyperion Charger EOS0610i duo and I am using a 13.8V/10-12A
PS. I am not able to charge my Hyperion packs 5000mah simultaneously without having more than 2.3 amps each.
I set my charger EOS0610i configuration for a power supply of 13V/10A.
Each battery are set to Lipo, 5000mah, 6s, 22.2v.
Why am I not getting more than 2.3 amps for each battery during charge?
Any advise are welcome!

360 Watts Max power output!

That’s 180 Watts on each port. There is the power-sharing option, but both your packs are the same. However it would let you charge one pack before the other, unless you are using them in series in a heli

Power Supply Setting of 13V and 10A is only 130 Watts!

You want to charge your packs at (TWO x 5A x 22.2V) = 222Watts!

Power In = 130 W

So in theory the output Amps would be the input power divided by the battery voltages = 130/2*22.2 = 2.9Amps per pack.

The charger itself uses power and there will be losses across all the leads. Not to mention voltage displays are not always accurate.

If you charge one battery at a time, and set the power share for that port to 90% it will charge at 5A.

YOU NEED A MORE POWERFUL POWER SUPPLY!

Man.... I should have light my bulb before asking! ;-)

Thanks for the answer!
I was scratching my head over this for nothing. I should have think POWER!
You are right: "power-in = power-out + loss"...
I will buy a better power supply and do my calculation right this time!
