Hello everybody, I have heard that a new Vibe 90 is coming out at the end of this Year. It shall have the same Canopy design as the Vibe 50 and new Mechanical layout.

I know there are some photos out there, but none of the persons is able to show them to me.

Does anyone have Photos?

Greetings

no...what would really piss you off is if they lowered the price. No really, they probably will. My marketing instincts tell me the next Vibe 90 will be $899ish.

They are dear, but ya get what ya pay for..... NOW HAVING SAID THAT....

Earth to JR, Come in JR.....3 bits we DONT!!! want in the next Vibe.

1. Your mainshafts are a pile of overpriced garbage. 10mm solid might of been ok 20 years ago,get with the times(at leats12mm), ive broken two of em doing Stuart Motts little trick at last years 3DM. I had a blade tap my knee at a almost complete spooldown,, only to have one bend also. Ridiculous for what we pay for em!

2. Your plastic tail drive gears,, again overpriced garbage.(JRP960111) I mean, what were ya thinking putting a sharp bevel cut steel, against a basic plastic gear.... and put it under tail drive sorta loads??? Loopy

3. And my personal pet hate. What genius decided to put the only part, that changes trim in flight,, right up the bloody front??? I mean,, it couldnt possibly be in a worse position.

Now before ya say im just bashing that heli, its not. I love my vibe, but there is a couple of things that drag me down about it, every time i fly it. If they fixed them in their next effort, but could retain the balance/feel of the rotorhead, the light weight, and otherwise toughness, they would be on a winner.

Rant over.
Suit on.

These are the new improvements that I want to see on the new Vibe 90 ;

1. Increased strength on the main rotor hub
2. Flybar cage
3. More pitch range without binding (+ , - 14 preferrable)
4. CHEAPER PARTS !!!

Thats all..

JR Vibe 90 , Sylphide 90 C , JR Vibe 50 , JR AS 50 , T-rex SE V2 , Raptor 50 Titan

That may be, but these are kits that are already in stock, any new stock will be hit by the price hike, if they aren't then the dealer is taking a knock on his profit margin.

Most dealers will take a cut in the kit price on the premise that they will sell spares to that customer in the future.

The only bits that the vibe requires updating are the extortionate spares prices and the ****ty plastic tail box and tail grips. I'd live with the mainshafts if we paid what they are worth, about £5. QUK have solved the 360 flybar cage. Every heli has a trim change when it uses fuel, use it to your advantage.

Hey Droid. i liked ya work with the vibe tail grip mod. Came out good.
Kinda funny, ive heard a bit about people having a drama with the tail boxes, and grips, but mine has run like a champ... juss some things work for some, and some thing work for others eh? I know a few vibers that dont have any dramas with theirs at all.

But the trim change m8? Its pretty significant isn't it? Not like any other machine, on the market here in AUS. If it was some scale chopper, and i wanted the tail low, to get a nice "sit", sure, but a 3d monster 1 foot off the ground???????

Most people who have never flown a vibe, have no idea, just how severe the trim change is.

Funny, i just never really noticed it, i fly from full to empty and i'm quite prepared to do very low 4 point backwards rolls at the start and end of the flight. Admit it doesn't help in piro manouvers especially, stationary piro's, but i tend to live with it i guess.

The whole tail scenario is a PITA, i'm trying to work around it, glueing the bearings in helps a lot, but headspeeds still need to be kept lower than i would like to run to ensure confidence that the machine might finish a flight intact.

The Vibe 50 tailbox fits and if it wasn't for an unfortunate spool up boomstrike last weekend i would be trialling it now.

Cheers m8.

From dry assembly only so far you need the complete tailcase and control system from a vibe 50, the only problem to overcome is converting from the tt drive end to a splined drive coupler, i think the 600N end coupler might fit the vibe 90 tt coupler but may still require turning down. Will post some pics once i get more involved.

How would ya go removing the insert/splined coupler from the tail end of the 90 size drive, and fitting the tt coupler directly the shaft? Spose it depends on bearing/shaft sizes.....
Ill juss wait for your thread...

Cheers.

No the length required won't allow you to dispense with the 90 tt coupler, you have to fit the 50 size coupler ( either 600N, vibe 50 or modified raptor 60/90) to the existing 90 coupler.

This is unless anyone knows of a longer TT the same OD and ID dimensions as the v90 , Raptor 90 is no longer.

Imagine you have to gain the distance of the portion of vibe 90 tail gearbox that is inserted into the boom, as the v50 version fits around the outside of the boom and the drive gear is near abouts flush with the end of the boom.

Mmmm, that is a tickelish one. Would a longer arrowshaft, as a tt get the extra length?,,,,, anywayz, im sure youll sort it.
Cheers again bro.
