Thunder Tiger Raptors 30-90 - Imperio > RAPTOR 90 swash servo suggestions for my Rappy 90 3d

Hi All,
I am an intermediate flyer with 2 rappy 60's and I have just acquired a very well built Rappy 90 3D minus electronics. I am intermediate in skill and starting to move a bit more towards 3D, but no real hard stuff at all. I have a 601 gyro and matching servo, GV-1 governor, and am now looking at what swash servos and blades. I have a new YS 90 ST-4 (long Stroke) with the new Hatori pipe for motivation. I am currently looking at JR 8717's, but was wondering what else people are using with sucsess. The 8717's have very impressive torque and speed numbers, but I suspect other servos are working well.

Also, while I am picking all of your collective brains, I am plannig on 710 blades, and wondering if any opinions are available. So far, the MAH blades are ni first place, but as above, all opinions are welcome

Thanks in advance for your reply

Joe

8717 servos are amazin but you might also be intrested in the bls 451s on the cyclics from futaba as these are slicky smooth and ment to last longer or the bls 351 for the colective as that extra kg is realy useful but the 8717 servos are great just make sure your power system can handle these top end digital servos

also as for blades i would say radixs 690 or 710 stick bangers as these are amazin blades fly well lots of pop and auto well

hi tec mg 5645

hi matey i use the hitec mg 5645 they have very good torque at 11kg.and are running at 0.13s...and handle flips and rolls faultlessly.these would give hard 3d a good running....but if money is not the issue then brushless is the way to go.my 2 cents worth....r90 flyer

Either the 8717 or the 451 will be kick A$$!

The Heli will be sick fast especialy on 6 or straight 8volts if your running spektrum. I am currently using 9252 on cyclic and a 8717 on pitch at 4.8 volts and it rocks it out pretty good. If your on a budget and ok with running 4.8 I would suggest this set up its plenty fast for your skill level and it wont break your wallet either! With the budget in mind you can almost get two 9252 for the price of one of the other servos.

Take offs are optional! Landings are not!

Hitec HS6965HB on 6volt work very well on cyclic. I run 8717 on collective and 6965 cyclic on all 3 90's, all on 6v regulated. (shifting over to all Arizona regs)

The JR8717 are very good but can very twitchy if your not use to that
but another good choice is JR8311 .They will do you good till you get into hard 3D flying.

I and many of the guys I fly with are using the Ace 1313's for everything but the tail. They are fairly inexpensive for what they are and work very well.

yes 9255s are great servos i use them on my 50 titan they are great and are ok on the colective but DO NOT run them at 6 volts they are a 4.8v only servo

They are a 4.8 volt only servo but you will find that a fully charged 4.8v pack will put out 6 volts.

I have been running 6 volts on a regulator for 2 years with no problems.

You should not however go over this.

a regulated system yes thats fine i thought you ment a 6 volt nicad or sum as a fully charged one of em is around 6.8 far to much for this servo.

i ave always found that the 9255 is so good a centering the best ivve every seen but does lack speed for real hard 3d but i do 3d and do not notice the lack of speed i love this servo and will b fine on a raptor 90

I second the vote for the Ace 1313s. Very durable and nice specs. I am running them on my 50 and my 90 on Lithium phosphate 2s 2400mah pack.

I run Futaba metal gear S9452 @ 6 Volts .11sec 128 oz-in torque in MY R90 SE
I bought them for $79 each and have had no issues after a crash.

I don't know why nobody suggest the JR DS-8325? These servos are specially made for helis and the JR top end Propo (12x) comes with these servos...
Is there any problem with these servos??
I'm wondering if our fingers are faster than 0.09 or 0.13sec/60deg.????

Ive 3x Futaba BLS451 running at 6V on mine. Ive had zero problem up to now. If more torque is needed you might consider the BLS351 that are a bit slower and more expensive.

Also using BLS451's

But at 5.4. I have also got good result with cheaper HS5625's at 6v on the 90's
