HIROBO Freya - Sceadu - Shuttle > help,I have to actually work on my evo90!!

I have an actual problem with my evo 90 after maybe 10 gallons of fuel.

I have a major tailshake that just started up,could be a bent tailshaft that happened after a few bad auto's that scraped the tailblades!!

I really don't need any help at the moment,it's just that nothing exciting seems to happen on the hirobo forum because they are too damn good.

just figure I would post this before cob webs get stuck on the hirobo page!!

I hear ya Rich, once both of my hirobos were set up, they are pretty well bulletproof. Nice to know someone is in the area here and flies the same brand I do. Can't get anyone here to listen about hirobo's products. Just have to keep showin em I guess.

The Hirobo's never tend to break, so they don't get as much attention. My buddy noticed a funny vibration sound on his Freya the other day. After inspection he found that every frame screw was loose and needed at least 1 to 1.5 turns.

I understand your dilemma...

My Evo 50s are so reliable I had to buy another heli to give me something to do in the shed!

I'm beginning to think you could attach broken parts to an Hirobo and they would self repair. ;-)

I am going on almost 2 years on the same set of v-blades on my evo 90,for me that is just insane!!

I sure as hell don't baby it,I beat the freaking snot out of it!!

I am not some wild 3/d flyer but I do fly it pretty hard, and the damn thing just keeps taking it over and over again.

I will hopefully find out what's wrong with it on wednseday so I can order parts before the weekend gets here.

minor tail shake

I'll bet it's a bent tail hub, vs the tail shaft. only takes one bad auto hitting of tail blades to bend it. Check your hub and you can probably see a visible bend. The tail spins so fast on the Freya that it will bend if it it hits a tail blade hard enough to break.

well I replaced the tail hub,the tail blade grips and put the stock blue plastic tailblades on it.

I tried it out last night and the major up and down shaking is gone but I can see the tail shaking some side to side like it's too lean?

The heli has piss-poor power and doesn't want to get out of it's own way, strange because the first few flight this year it was running very strong!!

I replaced the fuel tube in the tank and all the way up to the carb.

If I richen it up it gets worse and If I lean it out the engine gets warm and still doesn't seem to have the power it used to!!

I still can't help wondering if changing gear ratio's would help or not,I am currently running 7.91 on my os 91szh and mp5?

only reason I ask is one of the guys at the flying field is flying a raptor 90 and the same engine and his just blows mine away!!

I do have .016" shims under the head,I wonder if I should take the extra shims out and give it a try first?

How much nitro are you running?? my freya is cranking now with the 8.27 ratio, makes the engine harder to bog and put's it into the power band for pipe i'm using (Hatori 939) at 1950 on the head. I think 7.91 is a little bit out for the OS91SZ-H.

well I ordered the 91 tooth main gear from heliproz along with a new clutch bell with an 11 tooth pinion.

I also decided to take the two extra shims that were under the head out and just reuse the one original shim,I had .020" of shims under the head and I will just put the original .008" shim back in.

I hope this works as I have been fighting this thing off and on for almost two years now, most was due to the hatori sb-16 not being the proper muffler for an os-91szh.

I am hoping to have it back in the air by friday or saturday and will let you guys know the results.

rear bearing

check the bearing on the motor. had one go out on an N9 with a YS motor and the only sign was the tail kicking like it was lean. someone thought it sounded like the bearing, but i had never heard a bad one. few minutes later it locked up from a piece of race in the crank. fixable, but definatley a learning lesson. could also explain the loss of power.
