Limiter wasn't working on the new Spektrum AR7100R so ran a basic curve instead. Even with the engine rich the performance was better than I was expecting. For those that asked for it, here is the video of the first flight:

I don't think I have enough time on the Aurora yet to make a fair comparison. Based on the few flights I got in yesterday, however, I can say that the Aurora feels much lighter in the air than the N9. I haven't put them on the scale yet, but I would be willing to venture that the Aurora is a good half of a pound lighter ready to fly. I'm going to try and get out this afternoon with both the Aurora and the N9 and fly them back to back to get a better feel for the differences.

YS 91SR with SB-19 and Radix 710's (non-SB's). Tomorrow I am going to try the new SAB's. At 160g each they are about 25g lighter than the Radix.

SAB 710's model 226. 160grames/blade.

so how did the comparison go?
The limiter was still not working today - I am starting to suspect that the backplate sensor is not functioning properly - and I was having some problems with the electronics on the Aurora towards the end of the day (all of the servos started to jump around on their own in flight, but I can't seem to recreate the problem on the bench). That said however, I did get a couple of good flights in on the Aurora before the electrical problems started. I can honestly say that if I were to buy another 90 right now, and future parts availability were not a concern, I would buy another Aurora. The Synergy is a great helicopter and I'm going to continue to put a lot of time on it, but in my opinion that Aurora flies better. Everything feels extremely locked in and it moves around like it weighs half as much as the N9. Another guy out at the field brought his N9 and Aurora today as well. At the end of the day his comments were exactly the same. The Aurora moves around like a 600N with the power of a 90. I went into this hoping that the Aurora would fly half as good as the Synergy. I am surprised to find myself saying that I find it flies that much better. Only time will tell how it holds up to abuse though.
Could you tell me what vid camera you were using for that film. The quality looks great
Don't mean to hijack. Just looking for something that can produce that kind of clarity.
Thanks
Great flying, and great chopper. Can't wait to get one myself.

The camera was a Sony SR-12. That video was shot handheld. Though the image stabilization is pretty decent, the quality does improve pretty dramatically if you use a tripod.

Wow great flying, and great quality video ! This just makes the decision on weather to get the 700n or Aurora even harder
try take the rev limiter sensor slide off to access solder joints, saw one with a blob yesterday. was picked away with exacto and works good now hope this helps.

I got it to work by pulling the sensor a away from the backplate by about 1/4cm. I'll check the solder joints though and see if that could be causing the problem.
