Hi folks..

Anyone out there flying a Scorpion 2221-10 V2 on 3s in a 450 size heli? I'm a noob, and don't need the headspeed, just wanting to stretch my flight time. What would be a good pinion to start with?

Thanks,
Steve

12T on that motor would give you a maximum of 2400rpm head speed but will be super efficient! I recon with a 2500mah pack you would be looking at about 10-12 mins flight time if you are just hovering about. You would want your throttle curve something like 0/40/70/90/100% and if you are using idle up a straight 90% across.

Eat, sleep, 3D, crash, repair, repeat...

Thanks for the info Richardmid! I'll just be hovering and slow forward flight for now.

No problem. Im not sure what blades you have but the Align Pro wood blades are really efficient and cheap and you can still do 3D with them.

I have the motor in a Beam e4 heli w/the stock blades. Haven't flown it yet. I'll give the Align blades a try. Right now, I'm doing most of my flying on a Dragonus II.

Thanks,
Steve
