i heard somewhere that this reciver will not work with the higher end radios, is this true?

Yes it will, put you must change the tx to 7 channel mode.

Hi,

It works - but you don't get the same speed as with 608. It runs on 1024 bit resolution, but the 608 runs on 2048 bit. For heli Futaba has made 617, which also is a 7 channel RX.

I don't know if you will notice any difference between 1024 bit and 2048 bit.

ive been using 1024 pcm up until now, i actually got the rx thrown in for free with my 12fg purchase, would be fine for my backup heli...

if not ill sell it and make afew $$ ive already got 2 6014's
