Is the servo voltage not adjustable?

The overall voltage is determined by the input. You can hook up a straight lipo, NiCd, regulator, etc. It gives a better connection to the RX for supplying power. The throttle and gyro channels have a built in regulator to drop the voltage to 5.2 volts.

I flew them both today and I love the 7100 in my Stratus. It worked perfect. The 7100R in my 600N worked ok, but it just isn't as smooth as it was with my Multigov. Its not horrible, but its not the same

Here are some good shots of my Stratus today... is this low enough for a test flight?

Thanks Mark for catching this pic

That last shot was really down in the weeds Far enough to bog pretty bad and I couldn't even see the head!! I am just glad I pulled out of it and my buddy Mark caught that great pic!!

On my 600, the RPMs just weren't as consistant as they used to be with the Multigov. It made my tail feel like it wasn't totally locked in like I am used to. It never blew out, but I did manage to make it kick the tail almost 45 degrees a few times which has never happened on this heli before. This is usually my most locked in heli with the Solid-g/BLS251 but even my R50 with a 611/9251 felt more locked in yesterday on back to back flights

It is the new Spektrum gov sensor. It comes with the 7100R to use with the built in Rev limiter. I have tried it with my Multigov and it seems to work with that gov too. No more magnets in fans, just 2 bolts on the backplate and this sensor is ready to go

If anyone finds these sensors available seperate from the 7100R, please let me know.

SPM6823 is the p/n for the Spektrum sensor alone. August 08' is projected delivery for this item seperate.

I just installed these new babies in my helis...can't wait to burn some fuel this weekend with them.

August

BTW, I have been thinking about my tail problems since installing the 7100R and I think it might be caused by my throttle servo. My throttle servo is pretty slow (3151) and now that the RX is stepping it down, I am running it at 5.2 instead of 5.9 volts. I think this combined with the faster cyclic servos (These were also running 5.9 before installing this RX) might be why I had so much of a difference in my tail's performance. I installed a 9252 on throttle so I'll try it out Sunday to see if it makes a difference.

I flew my7100R today with a 9252 on my throttle and it worked MUCH better. No more tail kicks and it held RPMs a lot better.

AR7100 and Multigov pro

Received them Saturday usps. The AR7100 is very nice. Just taking all the clutter off the heli makes a big difference. The 8v 8717's are fast but to be honest I only noticed a slight difference if any.

enjoy!

IT's what I do.

9303 and 7100R

Page 17 of the 7100R manual states the Gyro gain plugs in to the gear channel. Should this be Aux 2?

I also assume the throttle plugs into one of the 2 throttle positions with the Rev limiter functioning. Is this correct?

What batteries are you using on the 90 size helis? Is a 2100 too small (8717s on cyclic)?

Yes, plug the gyro gain into Aux2.

Use the regulated throttle port if you are not using an 8717 on throttle.

I use Flightpower 2500 2S Evolites and 2500 Outrage packs on my Stratus with the 7100.

Thanks. I am running 8717 on the throttle after I cooked a 9252 with 8.4V. How many flights do you get with the 2500 on the Stratus? Mine is going on a Synergy so should be comparable on flights. The Spectrum manual recommends 4000maH for a 90. I was getting 3-4 flights on my FlightPower 2100 prior. I just worry about the reserve. Mark

I have only had the 8 volt setup for about a week on my Stratus and I have only flown it 3-4 times each time out so I don't know how many flights I can get on a single charge. I still have quite a bit left afterwards.

funky did I understand that you felt it performed as good as multigov for governor function after you replaced the servo?

Not as good as the Multigov IMO but good enough that I moved the Multigov to a different heli and kept the rev limiter on the 600 after running it with the faster servo.

Guys I,ve ordered the 7100r, mostly because I could not get hold of multigovs (I have them on all my other heli's), I want to fit it in a vibe 50 with 8717,s and 2 cell lipo but surely you're looking for trouble with the 8.4v (fully charged) on the 8717,s as they are not rated officially for that voltage? Wouldn't it better to run it through a regulator to 6v?
Also am I correct in assuming that setting your throttle curves at higher v curves than normal would have the limiter perform more like a full governer (more linear)in the sense that it would always have to keep the headspeed at a lower constant than the curve to prevent overspeeding.

Common sense may not be common after all
