Here is my progress of my E-aurora.

(Im currently waiting for a tailcase that was missing in my kit, so I will wait with battery mounting plates so I can see where the CoG will be)

In its current form its a "non-intrusive" conversion, except a few holes its possible to convert back to its original Nitro state.

I might do a "intrusive" version later for better battery placement.
For this version Im planning on doing two battery plates on the side, so I can strap 1 x 6s1p 4500 pack on each side.

Gear-ratio will be 9.9:1 (10T pinion), so 500kv on 12s will be perfect. Im gonna run a Scorpion HK4035-500

Motor clearance is tight, if needed its easy to grind a way a little of the frame to make it fit though.
Will add "stock" frame spacers to stiffen the frame up since I removed the big CNC block.

Home made frame extension in G10, using MA frame spacer to make it stiffer.

Motor mount plate is MA Ion-X2 Stock parts, Pinion is MA, Pinion adapter is old MA Ion-X1.5 part, Upper bearing is Stock Aurora.

Made slots in the original frame stiffener for motor screws.

MA Pinion has the same size as original, so original bearing block fits perfectly.

Ive completed rest of the build + installation of electronics.

I will complete this E-conversion as a guide for those that dont want to chop up their frames (pictures will come later), But I dont like the battery placement, so I will go loose with the cutter.

Im planning on cutting in the following places, then replace the bottom section with a U-Profile out of aluminum, connecting frame and landinggear to each other, on that U (upside down U)

I will put a plate where I can place the batteries directly on, sliding them under the motor.

(Happens to be exactly how my E-stratus is designed by default)

where to cut:
(if needed its easy to add frame stiffeners behind the back landing gear, and from behind motor down to front, not sure its needed since it should only support the load of the batteries, no vibrations..)

Benefits of doing that kind of battery mounting is,

Better protection in crashes + you can use "taped-together" packs, two 6s1p side by side, where you tape together and no risk of connecting wrong, forgetting to charge one etc.

Some updated pictures, including some mockup plates on the side to mount the batteries on:

OBS OBS OBS, if you do this, DO NOT FORGET TO COVER THE EDGES OF THE BATTERY PLATES, ELSE YOU CAN LOOSE THE WHOLE HELI WHEN BATTERIES FLY UP INTO THE BLADES!

Dont ask how I know.

(and yep, no screws in the servos, havent done radio programming yet...)

(edit, dark picture, gonna get some better tomorrow in daylight.)

Fantastic conversion. What is the all up weight?? PLEASE post a video of this one in the air when you finish.
Too bad an e-version isn't available.

You have done a GREAT job retrofitting. Impressive.

Final weight with this setup comes to (incl painted canopy):
(with powerjazz, another 130grams off when Jive arrives)

Empty: 3820 grams.
With 12s1p 3700's: 5010 grams.
With 12s1p 4500's: 5170 grams.

About same as fully fueled nitro?

comparing to stratus, 300 grams lighter then E-stratus with same setup, and about 300 grams heavier then lighten E-stratus with Vbar.

Shall be interesting to see how this goes as flybarless later.
