Maybe I have good luck but I have 2 and after many, many flights not one issue. They both work great.

Too bad these things are hit or miss. They really make life easy.

trexdave, it is connected, I clipped it on and then pushed it over to lean against the frame where there is already a convenient hole. I cable-tied it to the frame at the hole. It works perfectly, can't shake around and I get no glitches.

Me too, there is at least 6 heli's set up with the 2+1 and 8717 servo's with no problems at all.Im even using mine with a PCM JR radio system.I have 2 heli's set up with the 2+1, one old style version and one new style.

had a glitching problem, i stupidly flew it knowing i had a glitching problem, bombing along at bout 30 ish mph, 20ft high, then suddenly dropped to the deck, the only electrical component replaced was the regulator, and no more glitches when i switched to duralite.

i had to replace my lipo because it was slightly bent aswell, i doubt a lipo can cause glitches though

I have the Arizona regulator on booth of my 600n's (3x8717,spartan/9254) with NO issues ever. Each heli has over 100 flights.
I couldn't be happier with the product. Sorry to hear about your crash though

Get a DX7 and stop having glitching problems altogether. 2.4ghz is way above the frequency that any vibration can generate. What you do have to worry about is they are very sensitive to Voltage drops below 4v. With high end servos the power needs can drain your batter pack to the point of rebooting the reciever....about a 7 sec hook up time to reboot. A very long time with out control of a Heli in flight. My heli only takes about 5 sec to hit the ground.

artimus,

Exactly why I don't use JR and Spektrum!

My question is why are some on this thread pushing the Arizona reg. when there are a plethora of threads warning people no to use them because of potential failure?

Linear regs. are not more reliable than digital switching types. They are simply much more inefficient!!! But as far as reliability goes, the Arizona doesn't have a good track record! Not any better than the linear Align 2 into 1.

IMO, the Arizona is heavy, unreliable and inefficient. I would never use this POS on any of my heli's! Having said that, their lithum ion and LiFe batteries are something to consider.

I have been running DX7 and 2in1 for over a year on 5 helis. The only lockouts I had was caused by running power hungry servos that would pull too much amp draw from the stock 1900mha battery. I now run two batteries in parallel and haven't had a problem since. I know a lot of people that run just one and have not had any problems.....
Check all solder joints and all conncectors in the system to make sure there is no issues there.....It gives me peace of mind.

sinte,

I have a couple of Align 2 in 1's (newer version) and a SGP Reactor.

I just got a Vibe 50 and will most likely put another Reactor in it. It's kind of pricey, I think I paid around $145 for the first one. It has selectable voltage output (5.2-6.8V) and receiver power buss bypass for the swash servos, a built in step down to 5.2V is used to power the receiver and gyro. The swash current rating is 10+A with 5.0A to the receiver. It also come with heavy gauge wire and Deans Ultra battery connection and a power on failsafe.

The Vibe will use JR8717's, so the Reactor is most suitable for these high current servos.

Incidentally, I have not had any problems with my Align 2 in 1's. I just think the Reator is the best out there for my setups.

I only get glitches from my gyro, never got glitches from my 2 in 1 I simply love it, I had a lot of problems before with other ways to glow, this one is simply the best system I've ever had. But I know there are some problems with them. I just think it's a matter of fact where you put it or how your wiring is.

I was hoping for less power consumption per flight. I used 1200mAh for 3 flights on my R50SE. That was with the Align 1900mAh battery. I'm putting an FP Evo 2500 in now, so at least I'll get more flights per charge.

It makes sense really, a linear regulator steps the voltage down by adding a controlled amount of impedance, so energy is lost in the unit (hence the huge cooling fins). When the servos run at higher voltage (I was on 4.8V NiCd before) then they draw more current and hence more energy.

The regulator is one way to get the servos going faster without going to 5 cells and pushing them too far beyond their design voltage (3x9252, 9253 on throttle, 9254 with step-down on tail). Otherwise I would just fly with 5 cells! The glo power is a nice feature, but then again its easy enough to clip a battery to the remote plug extension.

Anyway, more toys to play with!

Rob.
