so i have a set of MAH 690's with what appear to be 4mm holes. Thought they could be used on my x-spec, but it seems there screw has a 5mm body dia. Any thoughts on making the holes bigger in the blades or???

Also, it looks like I could put a 4mm bolt from a sceadu in. Has anyone tried this?

The X-Spec head uses 4mm blade bolts. The EVO 90 uses 5mm blade bolts. I guess I'm having trouble with the translation here.

What exactly do you need?

Which head do you actually have?

I still don't understand what it is that you want to know. MAH straight chord 690's currently have a 12mm blade root with a 5mm hole in the root area.

what i have

i have both heads, but did not check the x-xpec until u posted. I just assumed they were the same. now i just wonder if I can use a 4mm bolt in the evo 90 head. the head of the bolt and the but are both supported by the grip. Then i could use a 4mm blade in the evo grip. that was what i was gettin at.

A 4mm bolt in the Evo 90 head just moves around too much for my liking.. It seems to be fairly snug once tightened up, but it still has a bit of movement.

Most 90 size blades that I have used come with a 5mm bolt hole and a sleeve that reduces it to 4mm. Check to see if the blade has the insert in it. If it does, remove the sleeve (it should push out) and the hole will be 5mm..

Some blades also have 2 different sleeves in the box, one for 4 and one for 5.

The other alternative is to drill the hole out to 5mm..... Not sure if I would do that myself, but I have heard of guys doing that.

Don't put a 4mm blade bolt in the Freya Evo head
I've never liked the 4mm bolt in the XSpec
Sell the blades and buy ones with a 5mm hole
