I'm looking into getting a Phoenix 45 ESC. Is the HV worth the extra $$.

Don't think I'll ever run a high voltage system so I was planning on getting the regular 45 ESC. What other advantages does the Phoenix HV45 ESC have??

Thanks
Mike

Depends...

"High Voltage" would be anything more than 4 lipos or 5 A123's (with separate BEC) on the Phoenix 45. So, if you plan on running that or less, you will see no benefit other than room to grow, along with the negative of an ounce more weight. If you plan to run more cells some day, go for the HV. Hope this helps.

You are going to have to use a BEC with it.
