The x9303 is totally different, the 2.4ghz module is attached to the plastic rear cover of the radio.
I popped the module cover off of my 12x and saw the 14.3dbm, since its average power I'm sure it will have as much range as my x9303.

I just called Horizon. They don't have spare parts yet. They said call back in a few months.

I'm thinking I can rubber-cement this cover back in place and have it still be removable later. ... until I get a proper replacement.

How about some double sided tape around the outside edge? Perhaps the kind used for carpet which is extremely thin.

Is it just me, or did the rf module still have the MCU and PPM inputs attached to the lower board? Just thinking of an experiment that I still haven't tried with my DM8 module.

I still have not figured out why you did this...

busting a brand new radio for curiosity...

Oh.. there was another thread where I explained why. I pretty much insist on the throttle hold switch being up front instead of way in the back. So I had to open the radio to move the switch.

BTW, the move was completely solderless. I didn't have to do anything special with the wires (like I did on the 9303)... just swap the switch positions.

I'm still waiting for Horizon to respond to my question about if they will do it for me.

Did you slide the antenna base out of the way? If I recall correctly, you need to slide it about 1/4 inch to make some room for the back to disconnect.
