There is a perfect hole already in the frame. Its just above the fueltank.

When I used to run a header tank this picture shows where it was mounted.

There's no need to reinvent the wheel, i.e. by drilling any holes in the side frame because we've molded the mounting boss and made the hole for you! It sets the centerline of the 2ounce header at the proper height for the spraybar of the carburetor!

I forgot to mention, we have the 3-way filter Ts, which are part number PDR0004. We also have the fuel shut offs, PDR0003, as well as a neat bracket to support the filter, which is PDR0011, and of course, the 2-ounce header tanks, PDR0016 too.

Not to take anything away from John but I have never found a need for all that stuff he just mentioned. I have a fine mesh filter in the bottom of my fuel jug that is part of the DuBro #192 fueling kit. Then I have an inline Hangar 9 (HAN14) or Dynamite (DYN2006) inline filter between the header tank and the carb nipple. I dont see a need for filter brackets, shutoffs or additional lines. I have never hydro-locked a heli engine and have no problem refueling. I slide the line off the filter between the filter and the header tank. This way the filter is NEVER removed from the carb so it is never open to contamination and no fuel is ever less than double filtered.

I do use all the parts mentioned. I especially have fuel shut offs on all of my nitro helis. Can never be to safe. And the filters speak for themselves.

Hey J.D.,

I'll 2nd your endorsement of Arizona Heli! I just received my first canopy from him and he's my guy now! I have him started on my next one already.

Glad you liked the canopy. You have to post pics you know. Don't forget Scott at Ace Helis, he does great work as well. Give him a try sometime.

Thanks

I have the tank mounted in what looks like a workable position. Thanks JB for the heads up about the bolt boss in the frame, you REALLY DID think of everything, just another example of the high quality and fore thought put into the machine. I also found a fuel leak at the flow thru fitting while doing this, so maybe now my heli won't look as if it's just had a bath in oil, seems that I didn't tighten it far enough when I first put her together. Thanks again for the help guys.

Thomas
