I have listed most of the changes from the 12Z update pdf in that post as well (the update info is in japanese so I went from the screen shots and testing it on my 12Z).


Just checking the 12FG update notice it seems the 12FG gets MPDX (multiprop) functionality on the +2 channels PLUS throttle limitter + the most of the new additions to 12Z as well (only skimmed the 12FG pdf very lighlty as I did not want to babelfish myself trough it). One thing not added to the 12FG is detailed volume control which is added to the 12Z.

Updated my 14mz

Yesterday I upgraded my 14mz.
Windows: Ver. 4.20 (0)

I did downloaded it from:

Nice. I haven't look through all displays, and functions yet.
I do like tht there is a seperate timercounter for each model,
however, I do still think it crap, that when you push on the timer, it "zeroes" the timer, with out asking "are your sure: YES/NO"

so now my timers is starting all over

On the 12Z resetting the system time and the model time requires some steps so it is difficult to reset by accident.

The timers can be reset by a single push of a button.

small lettering and it looks like 10 characters are now available.
on the screen it now says "FUTABA CORP".
it will probably be awhile before it's on the US site, but i'll wait.

Futaba Corp is the user name on the radio. Has allways been up to 12 characters. Model names are 8 characters.

I just discovered that they added a lot of other symbols beside the small letters. I assume most are for the Japanese language support.

http://dictionary.reference.com/translate/text.html
and dropped in the Japanese writing and it converts it to english.
where it says "10 letters" must mean something else

I have not done the update on my 12Z, but my friend did and now it does not warn you if you start the radio in idle switch not set to normal mode...

Anybody experienced this?

Mine warns me if I have throttle cut on when I switch on the radio or changes models.

I would actually prefer if it warned me if I was NOT in idle or throttle cut mode. That would be safer for electric planes.

Futaba 14mz keeps getting better!

Great!

Now we can leave the display lighting off to conserve battery power and get more flight time! There is no need to turn it on when outside in the daylight...
