I just bought a Jazz 55 for my Protos (500 sized heli) and have a really strange problem. That is sometimes the motor shuts down for about 0.1 sec and then runs again like normal. It seems to happen at the end of the flight.

I'm running spektrum system so there should be no electronic glitch. My RX is 1.6 version and if there was a lookout due to receiver reset it should have been blinking but it does not blink after the problem happens so there should be no receiver reset.

My motor is rated at 800KV and some testing showed that the motor peaked at 55A on 6s. That should be fine for the jazz 55.

Any ideas?

Read up on RCgroups regards to static discharge, I suspect that is the cause...

A Jazz when it "cuts out" meaning overcurrent, over temp etc, it lower the RPM to about half, it dont "cut out completly"

I've had that problem. I solved it by taking a wire from the boom to the -ve on the ESC (and battery once plugged in).

I grounded the boom to the motor plate already. And as the matter of fact, I didn't have any glitch in aileron, elevator and rudder before or after I did the grounding. However the "glitch" in throttle has been there since the beginning.

I'm running 60% throttle curve governor mode so could that be the reason why the ESC has been over-amped?

and it gives notification via the led on the jazz, motormount isnt always enough for static removal, sometimes it has to be the negative lead directly.
