OK finnaly got mine sorted out with the V-Bar and then i stripped ALL the teeth off the main gear.

MAN this thing has some power !

I was told today that cyber heli do a helicut main gear for the stratus does anyone know about this or had similar experiances and what did you do to resolve the stripping of main gears ?

I remember seeing a spiral cut main gear as well. Looked and looked on cyberheli's site but couldn't find it though.

I have almost the same set up as you and have never stripped the main gear, whether on 10S or 12S. I would suggest making the mesh between the pinion and the main tighter. The center aluminum piece inside the stator of my 32-3 came loose when drag racing and had to be re-glued, but never stripped the main.

We stripped the main gear once, it was a combination of too loose mesh and i think a cracked main shaft collar(cracked it when i tightened it too much).even if youfind a spiral cut gear finding the pinion to fit will prob be tough. either wait on MA to start selling the 111T gears or might try e mailing cyberheli.

Adam is that you pushing that heli around? The Head Speed at the end of the video sounded the best, what was it 2000 or maybe more. Were you using A123 packs?

Hmm,

I stripped a few gears, when I run too much of a backlash, other the that, never... and I fly hard.

I wonder if your CC110 is the cause, they arent exactly 100% on 12s, known to stop motors, start going in reverse (from full speed in one direction etc).

Mine applied brake in the middle of the flight, how fast can you say stripped gear and bladefold...

Tight gearmesh and if everything is correct otherwise, you wont strip it.

Dale . I have one of those "helicut" "spiral " main gears and its pinion , but I think it's 93 tooth , not sure of the pinion teeth .. It was designed for the Fury 60 , ages ago .... I never got around to fitting it .....

I'll check the tooth count etc for ya....

i have a new 100 tooth main gear coming im wondering if i can use the ION-X2 double main gear in the stratus frames ? anyone ???

yeh i know we may need to talk to the frames with "Mr Dremel" a little.

Does anyone know how many teeth are on the ION-X2 main gear ??
