That suck michael.
I remember my order with MTA hobbies(in CA) couple years ago. I ordered two 9254 servos(which should arrive in 3 days via USPS priority mail) and I got them 1.5 months after they shipped them. During 1.5 months, I talked to them many times and everytime it was the same story: they will start the investigation asap and if it doesn't bring up anything then they will send me new ones...
As you can guess they never did and one day the package showed up in my mailbox. USPS couldn't come up with any explanation as to what might have happened.

So in reality, the seller should be responsible till the shipment arrives to its destination but who cares the reality.

You are very unlucky unfortunately. Many people got theirs with no problem...

that sucks, there shipping process was kinda funky. The package that I paid the extra cash for express shipping showed up before the website ever stated shipped. Matter of fact, the order still shows up as "processing" even though it has been in my posession for quite some time now.

Hope your packs turn up but I would keep trying to climb the ladder over there until you get someone willing to help. If all else fails, talk to paypal and see what they say.

i called my bank and they filed a report... they temporarly credited me the money back and their sending them a letter stating they have to prove they shipped them and it got delivered or else i keep the money. the only way they can prove that is the tracking number which still says shipped july 5th so it should be good now. my girlfriend bought me 2 batteries for our aniversary so i should be good on batteries for a bit

Sorry to hear what's happening to you. For that's worth, I have placed about 10 orders from HobbyCity and used express shipping everytime and they always arrive here in California in about 4 days.

I have hear some horro story about their regular shipping. I think the averge time for the regular air parcel is at least 2 weeks to forever?!?

I opt for express since it only cost $10 more and each of my order is usually about $300. So $10 is not much in comparison.

I just received my two 5S 5000 Zippy H lipos yesterday. It arrived in California in less than 4 days. I paid the extra for the fastest shipping and both packs were still only $250. I hope to try them this weekend. They are going into my IonX which I dont really push too hard so I dont plan on stressing these packs out too much. You might say that these will be my cruising packs. Visually, they look pretty well built.

Great...I just got screwed by HobbyCity on my second order. I will spare the details but just beware. Remember, if you buy from Hobbycity, you are not buying from a US retailer...nuff said. Stick to domestics like ReadyHeli, Heliproz, and the like. Too many good domestic retailers to risk your hard earned money on the cheap overseas customer service.

everyone keeps saying we need to fix the economy, well do your part, keep the money here in the USA,stop sending your money to overseas companies for a marginal product, with no customer service.is a few bucks worth it??

I've always found this funny, even before I became a rep, that people will buy the best radio, servos, helis ect and then buy crappy batteries from suspect companies, its the life blood of a heli.the best heli in the world is only as good as the batteries you are using

Hmmm... I think it's more then a few bucks. ~$125 for a $300 TP pack. That sounded like $175 to me.

Where do you think ReadyHeli, TP or any other online shop are getting their pack?? Oversea!!! I will not wast my hard earn $175 just for someone to repackage the pack and slap on a TP label or FP label

IMHO, the real solution to fix economy is to have this country start making quality product at the competitive price that other countries would want to buy.

Pop-Quiz, guys. Name one brand of lipo pack that is actually made in USA from raw material to flyable pack.

Anyone??

we can't do it. mathematically it does not work out. we have min wage they don't. thats why we move big plants over there for CHEAP labor, there is far more to it than that, but enough of my rant...

I have/had lots of brands of batts zippys, thunder power pro-lite, thunder power extreme, eflite, flightpower, SMC, align, and outrage... they all worked good in the beginning, the thunder power extreme have held up under MANY trex450 crashes and are still strong, the outrage are by far my new favorite awesome power, they are the newest so they have not been beat up yet, the rest have all either lost there punch or have reduced flying time.

ps I have heard good things about the PerformancePlus packs I may have to check one or two out...

he saved no money and is still waiting for the batteries.and is out 360 dollars, wow thats a great deal.I'm talking about guys buying the 3s batts for 20-30 dollars when you can buy far superior batteries here in the USA for 45.00,with a great warranty and real customer service

yes but you can still keep the money here by buying from a company that is assembling packs here, warrantying the packs here and has customer service right here on RR everyday,if you want to keep sending your money away for FAR inferior packs with almost no warranty(45 days and it takes you 3-4 weeks to get the batt is NOT a warranty, that gives you 2 weeks to break the pack in and then no warranty)

ps.anyone interested in the PPRC batts PM me there is a nice deal in the works

Something wrong with named brand lipo or "American" online store. How come they charge too much and the lipo shouldn't be that expensive. I browse some Asian internet and people paying less money over there for the similar lipo with different brand name. All of those lipo were either made in China or Korea, nothing made in here but maybe repackage here.

From what I observed from different pilots that used named brand lipo and Zippy, there are no difference in performance and Zippy performed very well that made me wonder they are in fact made from the same place as the named brand lipo.

The solution is to have our retailers here to give us fair price for the lipo. This will help our economy.

HobbyCity made things right.

I am glad to say that Hobbycity issued me a refund. They finally took my advice and cofirmed my duplicate payment. I'm glad because I like their prices and so far, the Zippy lipo seems to be performing and balancing well. Time will tell.

At those prices, one HAS to try them out...at least.

Over the last four years l`ve killed a few TP and FP packs. l`ve not managed to kill any of the cheep inferior packs from Hong Kong yet and the price difference is far greater when you live in the UK. lt`s a no brainer for me.

I failed to understand why you insist packs from oversea vendor are "FAR inferior", while agreeing with the fact that we don't make any cells for RC use in US. Packs sold by US vendor consist cells that were made oversea, and to the best of my knowldge, many US vendors don't even assemable the packs in US as it is far cheaper to have packs assemable oversea.

In someway, I feel most US vendor is turning them selves into insurance company that sells policy that guaranteed the exact same pack we could buy at lower price.

Yes, as far as I know (disclaimer: I dont know much), all lipo packs for RC use is manufactured overseas. As such, all we are keeping domestic is distribution. This is not to say that I dont buy domestic because i do (ie. Readyheli, HeliProz, Esprit Models, to name a few). In fact, my favorites are still TP and FP from the afore mentioned vendors. For me, the Zippys are still on a trial basis. When you can get a product at 1/2 price for similar quality, then it's a no brainer. This just leaves extra $$ to spend domestically.

because I have tried the budget brands and I have tried better brands and there is a definate difference.there are different grades of the quality of cells.are you saying there is no difference between a TP,FP,FMA KP,PPRC,OUTRAGE,or desirepower packs and a no name import?

what types of batteries have you tried?

I was also refering to the overall experience as being inferior,I have read more than a few horror stories with ZIPPY,I have not tried them, but I know what I read.and even if only 5 out of every 5000 people do not get their batteries(because of shipping problems),Is this acceptable?should it be a crap shoot when you hit the "confirm order"button,no real warranty,no crash warranty, you get what you pay for

ASM,I am going to pm you

I purchased the Zippy for my large "cruising" heli which doesn't really require the high end lipos as it is not too demanding on the lipos. For my high power-to-weight ratio birds. For that, I use TP or FP.
