Kyosho Caliber 30 & 60 - Concept - Nexus > Nexus Legato

A buddy of mine has come up with a Nexus Legato. It's the first one I have seen. Kinda like the idea of an OS 4 Stroke powered helicopter. Can you guys give me some info and tips so I can help get this thing in the air.

Nexus

I had a friend that had a 4 stroke in his and he had so many problems with it that he switched it out for a OS46. It never seemed to run right from one run to the next he said he was always adjusting the motor. The airframe is good but the motor gave him some kind grief.

It couldn't get out of its own way and you had to run it on the cusp of burning up the motor to get even marginal power out of it.

Neat idea though, and it sounded kind of cool.

Dave,

I owned and flew the Legato for several years. The OS52 was always weak and was difficult to tune correctly. Every time it would get running well it would overheat. I installed a YS53 4-stroke and the model became a very good performer. It ran with the power of a strong 32. With the OS 52 it will do mild flying. The real problem with the machine using the 52 was the head speed. It was too low to really do anything aggressive.

Nexus Legato

Hello,

I came across a couple of these over the years. he reason they were sold were the headaches in setting up the OS 52 engine and the lack-luster performance from the setup. I, like many others wound up swapping out the engine for the 46. Worse case scenario is that you have parts for nexus with flapping head.

In my opinion, Dwight is the answer person for anything Kyosho. He practices what he preaches and a very nice man to boot!!
