The bearings in my neu 1107/1.5y went out. They make a terrible screeching nose when it runs. How do I contact Steve neu? Can the bearings be replaced?

They won't be replaced for free if that's what you're asking.

I have had bearings fail in both Scorpion and Neu motors, and I have not found either solution to be more robust than the other. That said, Neu motors do have a longer history and boast an outstanding track record of durability and reliability.

For repairs just contact Steve with Neu motors and they will take good care of you. Neu's customer service is exceptional and depending on the length of ownership and type of failure the bearings may very well be covered under warranty.

Here is a link to contact information for Neu motors with additional info on motor returns for repair:

I've had three different Neu heli motors fail from either bearings failing or the rotors coming unglued from the shaft. One big one took 4 months to get fixed and cost more than a new Scorpion.

At least if the Scorpion fails as well you've got half the cost in it and they out perform the Neus I have hands down. And they will replace a bearing without any problems for 2 years. not to mention that doing the replacement yourself is a 10 minute job.

But it's your money so do what ever turns your crank

Wow, 4 months turnaround time! I drove to Neu company and have them to replace the bearings. It was done in one day and I was able to pick it up next morning. Now, the motor works excellent and no screening noise. I am lucky live few blocks from them.

Dennis052, what do you charge for someone to send their Neu motor to you so they can get it back quickly. Just a thought if they are that quick when taken directly to the manufacturer.

I am currently running align on my Trex 450 but am hearing a screeching sound sometimes, I think I have a bearing going out or something, so I am looking to see what motors people are likeing. Seems some people are wearing them out fast, must be all the 3d stuff, I just do sport flying and have around 500 7minute flights on mine, gentle flight time on the motor.

As I said I am just starting to look but it seems Neu and Scorpion both have a lot of problems. Is that just because the people that buy them are beating the heck out of them?

I would guess so. But I have a Scorpion HK 2221 -6 and about 200 flights so far with no issues. Hard core 3d mind you

So would someone still doing simple flying be better off with something like that or should I stick with align until I get into 3d stuff, if ever.

All those high performance motors suck a lot from your pack. If you are just doing normal sport flying I'd just stick with the 430l. . .

Little more info, I am flying a Trex 450sa with DX7 tx, using 2100mah TP bats, fly 7.5 min without overheating, about 1200 mah put back into bat.

Thanks, I guess I will take your advice, they are probably cheaper anyhow.

Well if you already have a Neu you might as well keep it. It is a very good motor that you will enjoy when you get into more advanced maneuvers.

To Vsynder8, I am not sure I can get fast service if I go to the Neu's main office all the times. It is always faster to get service if you talk to the people working in the headquarter, not only Neu. I live few blocks from Hitec that I got servo arms on the door (for free too ). I love San Diego even more now.
