e-Electric Motors & Controllers > Neu1515/2.5D/F/H motor in my TREX 600 shaft moves a lot

I just noticed on my Neu1515/2.5D/F/H motor in my TREX 600 that the shaft moves (in and out) over 1/16 inch when I push down on the pinion. Is this normal? It does bounce back after I release... does the fan setup have some spring setup in it?

thanks,

Mine was like that. Maybe it's not normal but it's not a problem.
The 'spring' you are feeling is the magnets acting on the outer coils.

I think this is not normal. Have you taken it apart to replace bearings before? There are many small washer ans stand off inside, missing one will make the shaft move. The problem of moving shaft is the main gear will wear out faster, and may not be good for the bearings. I have mine repaired by Neu, the shaft DOES not move up and down.
