9 months for a Predator mainshaft

What! I'm sorry guys. I've been a loyal Swift fan but if I had to wait that darn long I would of sold it long ago. I've been wanting to go either nitro or gas for the longest time and been waiting for Century to come up with a Swift nitro however, with all this drama with parts going on the Align gasser sounds really good if there's ever to be one. At the rate things are going, I forcast that to come out first since Align is going full speed ahead. I will just wait and see what happens because my Swift is still going strong. If Century don't get it in gear, they will loose another customer right here.

Not that it is any excuse for lack of stock, but after 9 months couldn't you have whittled one out of a piece of bar stock? I am surprised that someone has not come up with their own supply. It is a mainshaft; not a very technical piece of equipment....

I could only ponder the number of Century helis setting on the shelf because of lack of parts! Seems to be more Predator and Gasser's than anything.

If it doesn't fly sell it!

So Century, Can you sell me a Condor tomorrow and give me parts support for I am ready and have cash in hand to get the big bird? If not just say so and I will do something else. Its just a simple question and I will be done.

If it doesn't fly sell it!

I have a Kinetic 50 that sits around right now because the lack of upgrade options from the manufacturer and replacement parts. I got lucky because it shares parts from the Hawk and the Raven so it opened up my options a little bit. However, I had to salvage my auto rotation hub from the gear I stripped during a crash because they didnt have one in stock and nobody but Century carries that part. It was no big deal nor I really need it but its a scary thought knowing if this is the kind of support you get now then what is it looking in the future when my heli is a couple years old. I now have a 600N Pro and absolutely love the part support.

Zman,
It's interesting how they share the same parts considering they are from two seperate companies. I wasn't even aware of that.

Dilbeck,
I hate to be the badguy here or rain on anybodys parade, but as you can clearly see there are issues that needs to be addressed in regards to parts availability. I personaly would hold off on purchasing another heli from Century until these issues are resolved. In the meantime, fly the heck out of what you got and hope they have parts for it when needed. I'm not a Century hater but I would hate for you to get into something that you can't keep in the air do to lack of parts. I have no problem getting parts for my Swift yet. But that could change.

IMO

I will own a Gasser in the next 30 days no matter what.. And I will find the help I need here on RR to make the right decision. I would like it to be a Century due to almost all my helis are Century birds. But I will not tolerate out of parts and let it set on the shelf. You know how it feels to have your prised position setting there and cant do anything about it. No bashing here but I want a Condor and swing 810s, somebody HELP ME!!!!!!

If it doesn't fly sell it!

Dont buy the condor. First of all you cant get parts most of the time, second of all, the condor has problems with its design... Im tellin you, the condor has been nothing but a headache for me the past 2 years.. Just want to warn you before buying a condor so you dont have the trouble i went through with parts support and the machine itself.

Hirobo X-spec or Freya

well, I'd like to shed a bit of positive light here. I'm into my 2nd gallon of my Predator and I really like the way it flies. I also like the fact that typical crash parts will be cheap when I need them. The guy at our field that waited 9 months for the mainshaft probably hit Century at their worst moment and that was a couple of years ago. I would expect them to be better about typical crash parts. I did have some issues during the build, most were due to the kit I had having a mix of pre-NX parts. Century support took care of all the issues, really stood behind the kit - even if it did take more time than it should have.

Nick - can you let us know what part(s) Century had a hard time sourcing? Might help me prepare for the moment when I have to belly up for pred. parts.

Skycam - what specific issues do (did?) you have with with your Predator? Not the part supply issue but what mechanical issues?

...yep...

Sky,
LoL. Also, Hey... I had a Swift. It flew beautifully. I’ve noticed that you always suggest this heli everywhere a newbie wants suggestion but no one is listening. Their loss.

Jim,

That's such a heart warming story that it has brought tears to my eyes !! What you say, however, does not minimize Century's lack of any real desire to make significant changes to correct their inefficiencies........As has been stated before by many, it is cheerleaders like you that make the situation worse, even though you "think" you're helping. The particular problems being discussed today are the same old problems that have been ongoing for years............That is why I and many others choose NOT to become one of Century's victims......

I can see that you periodically take me off your ignore list to see what I have to say based on your cowardly need include my name in your response. Then you run and hide behind your mommy's skirt by placing me back on your list !!

That's OK, no surprise.....that is exactly what I would expect from you !! I'm very proud of the fact that you are the only person that has chosen to place me on his ignore list....LOL !!!
