Hi Irwin,

Just wanted to thank you for coming by and flying at Farview Flyers today. It was an honor! I know that the place where you fly regularly is much closer to your house than Farview and I hope you enjoyed it. We only had a handfull of flyers today because of the holiday.

Please, come again when you can. Everyone enjoyed talking to you. You can see that we are pretty laid back and easy going.

Have a good week, I will see you next week for coffee.

WHAT A DAY

The Farview RC club members were so nice & made me feel so welcome.
This is a club without ego's form jets to small EP & of coarse heli's. The day, weather & most import the people were just fantastic.

There flying field is without a doubt the most breathtaking field you could ever be privilaged to belong too. Their SITE is atop rolling hills overlooking several thousand acres of farm land, cut grass & beautiful eastern PA country side.

I believe they will hold 3 events this season & if any readers can make these events it will be a day you won't soon forget.
The ride for the members & flying site are certainly worth the drive.
Pleas check the AMA for event schedule.

Thank you Irwin, that was a nice post!

Not only do we have 3 big events this year, we have the Rally of the Giants in 2009! We are a very loose bunch, though safety is always first on our minds. Since we fly props up to the maximum size allowed, helis as well as turbines, we do watch our flight line. We a registered airstrip and ultralights are able to come and go (on a separate runway). Our runway is 1800 feet x 400 feet with unlimited flyover and visability.

Check out our website:
www.farviewflyers.net.

Anyone who wants to try it out should PM me. Of course, you must be an AMA member.

We had a great day yesterday Irwin, thank you for finally coming out!

Actually it is....I guess the owner asked them to find another location....That club is 4-5 miles away & they are on 72 or 2.4..FAR VIEW is strickly 2.4 no exceptions.

HAve you been there before?

Actually, Farview is where Tri County Wingsnappers used to be until the mid to late 90's. TCWS moved about 2 miles away and is still at that field. The owner of the original field (Farview Flyer) invited TCWS back about 2 years ago. TCWS BOD voted not to make the move so a bunch of us formed a new club at Grim's Field, now called Farview Flyer. The group of us that formed the new club wanted a place with more opputunity to fly more types of RC models including giant scale, helis and turbines.

Because Farview is only 1.7 miles as the crow flys to TCWS, Farview is a 2.4 ghz DSS field only. The exception to that would be during events at which time all 72mhz frequencies are allowed and TCWS is shut down.

Farview has 57 acres with unlimited (limited be range of sight) flyover areas and an 1800 x 400 foot runway so in the event of trouble you have allot of options. And wind direction isn't a factor, we just take off and land in whatever direction we need.

We invite anyone and everyone to come see and fly at our field. Only requirments are AMA and if you fly turbines or experimental, you would need the proper waivers/certifications.
