I'm using a JR 770 3D gyro and the JR 8900 rudder servo on my Lepton, and I'm not having much luck getting it to work. It bounces and seems to hunt no matter what gain setting I give it. Anybody been able to get this combo to work? If so can you post your config. I have the servo mounted vertically with the addon mount. By using this I have to have a really small control horn. I'm wondering if this is the problem. Do you think changing the metal control rod, to a carbon fiber tube will help any? How much foam should be under the gyro?

No matter how the servo's positioned I'd start off by making sure the servo horn is at the correct length ( at least 10mm ) Gyro should have some foam with it or get some at LHS. The control rod works fine for me but I'm going to change to a ball link and c'fib rod one day.

Tail_BoomStrike, I thought the Chinese Balls were to reduce unnecessary force to the servo, thus saving battery life. By posting the link are you saying that this will also help with Gyro bouncing problems?

You know, I just changed to the 7703D/3400 combo from a 401/9254 combo. I haven't had any problems. I would first try to use the closest hole to center to mount your servo ball. Then I would follow the setup instructions. It sets up much different than a regular gyro (as you may know). I had to put a lot of expo and use DR to bring down the piro rate. However, I'm liking this gyro better on my Lepton than my TRex 500 and they have an identical setup.
