Hey all
After some patient building and lots of reading from all the feed back from you guys , i have finished and flown my n9 and yes its awesome, had about a gallon of fuel now , apart from some fuel foaming at first but has calmed down now,i just love it.
but now i have found there is quite abit of play in the main shaft not up and down, but forward and backward , have removed and checked main bearings and even replaced, but still there, anyone else have this?

Hmmm... I don't have any play in my main shaft and I have 2-3 gallons through mine now. Have you checked to see if the shaft was seated all the way down into the bottom bearing? Sometimes it is hard to see if it is or not just by looking.

If the wings are travelling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter

Will strip it down again when i return home and check without the head on, see if by the shaft sitting lower if that makes any difference , its only a slight movement but still annoying,

Are you sure it is not up and down? That would mean the shaft collar needs to be adjusted. I had the same feeling when mine was new and it was a simple adjustment.

no up and down movement at all, even loosened off collar and had minimal vertical movement, just a slight rocking of shaft,from last inspection seemed like main shaft was moving within top bearing inner race so i replaced the bearings but play is still evident, if i hold the heli tight against the floor you can feel the shaft rock forward and backward not alot but noticeable, have the hypercollar fitted with writing facing towards skids presume that's the correct way?
All was fine when new but got worse as it breaks in

The play that you can feel is probably the top bearing block moving on the metal inserts.

When you take it apart next epoxy the 2 metal hex inserts in the bearing block, this should get rid of all the play.
