Yeah, Art my buddy who I fly with all the time has them on his 500 vbar....they seem to work quite well, they definately require different settings than the 9650's but are rock solid and fly great....

All three 9650's stripped on me after a bad auto

The rest of the heli is 100% OK.

I figure go with something MG. I have heard though that the 5245's will crack their case and that they are not as good as the 9650's??? Notchy etc...

I have also heard that some guys are using the 9660 gears to replace the 9650's with. No report on how good they are though???

Thanks,
Art K.

Yeah, I ran the 5245's in it initially way before the vbar, and I noticed a huge difference once I switched to the 9650's...It was much more stable and smooth. I did have a very minor crash with the 5245's and broke 2 cases, so either way you are pulling the servo, and the gears to clean out the broken plastic....in addition every MG servo I had, those included, developed some sort of slop over a short period of time, so for me I prefer nylon gears, and have come to realize that changing them is part of crashing....Besides if the gears in the servos don't give, something else will...

9650

Thanks Jake,
I just decided to buy the 9660 metal gears from hobby city. I am returning the 5245's I just purchased. Could not believe how easily the 9650's stripped out and the price they want for each set. It is criminal.
12.00 dollars a set for 9650 gears.

5245's Crash Resistance

I talked to a few people and I gues the 5245's are still very crash resistant despite the occasional cases breaking.

I love these things!!!
