hey all

i just installed a Scorpion 2221-8 V2 in my mini titan, my only problem is that i can here the motor pulsing. At first i thought it might have been caused by vibration as i could see my tail fin buzzing, however after balancing everything and probably getting the smoothest heli i've owned, the motor still pulses. Its in a consistant 1 second rythem. I was running everything stock before with no problems, the only change i made was the motor, carbon tail boom and metal tail. The weird thing is that it an intermittent problem, some times it wont pulse, other times it will.

Its not the battery packs as they've each probably had about 50-60 cycles on them and were fine before i installed the motor. and i hope its not the esc. I'm thinking i might re-install the stock motor to check and see if its the motor thats no good.

I had trouble with the stock ESC from the get go. Sent it back to Ace and they sent me s brand new one. In the meantime, I bought an align 35amp ESC and have had no trouble since. I'm thinking the it is the ESC. You have a HOT motor. Did change the stock motor to the Align 430L (3550kv). It works for me

Try lowering your Tx throtle trim a few clicks down from center to see if that makes difference.

Sometimes a pulsing motor is the sign that the ESC is not happy about something - either the battery voltage is too low or the motor current is too high. Moving to a more powerful motor could make either of these a problem when there was no problem before.

i'll try re-programming the esc... maybe somethings gone a miss some how, if it still pulses i'll get back to you. the 40A esc should be able to work with the scorpion 2221-8 V2 its got a lower KV (3595)than the 3700kv mini titan SE motor and that runs the stock ESC, unless there's something i dont know about (more than likely)

Which ESC's are recomended for the scorpion 2221-8 ?

i think i might have solved the issue... cant be too sure though as i crashed while testing I re-did the set up of my ESC and i also changed the route of my wiring within the frame... and tried one or two other little things.
