Has anyone used the new engine block yet? Did you use it with or with out the new engine mounts? Thanks

It runs great. I have the YS in my N9 and the engine sounded totally different with the new mounts. It was definitely smoother. Has a very solid sound to it and of course it fly's great.

Can any of you guys running the new engine centre block (or have one in a packet) please give me a measurement from the lowest mounting bolt hole in the new block to the base of the new block.

The reason I ask is that I have my remote glow fitting drilled into the R/H side frame, in front of the tank, below the standard centre block & want to see if the new engine block will fit without hitting my glow connection.

You can see the glow connector in this pic to the left of the 3-way fuel filter.

Thanks in advance.
Dennis.

Hey Dennis,

I just checked mine and the new center block takes up all the space between the frames where you have your glow connection. You would have to move it somewhere else. The center mount fills in the space between the engine and the tank and it goes all the way down to the bottom x-brace.

Very nice canopy by the way I really like that paint scheme.

Damn!!

I may still be in luck if my glow connector fits in through the lower cutout in the centre block (fingers crossed)

I can't have a blind hole in the frame! I'd have to get a new side frame

Yea that's true hopefully you will get lucky and it will work out for you. But you would still have to drill a hole in the mount for the wire to run through.

Isn't the base of the mount open?

I'm just going by the pic on synergyrc.com

Yes you are correct. I thought it was closed but I just looked at it and the bottom is open. Sorry about that.

Well I bought the new centre block & the hole that I had drilled in the frame for my remote glow extension is in the PERFECT SPOT!!

How lucky was that!!

Very happy!!

I just bought the new center mount.. but without the new side mounts.. i am wondering if anyone has tried this configuration? i figured that the composite side mounts were supposed to absorb a lot of vibration so i figured it would be good to keep them.. i dont mind spending the $$ on the new side mounts - i just am looking for the lowest vibration config and dont feel like removing/reinstalling the engine to test all the different setups..

I bought the new center block with out the side mounts. There is a difference. The vibration dose go down when looking at the fuel in the tank. And the heli makes a new noise, well different noise. I would like to try the new side mounts, but i don't have the $$ right now. I have gotten the vibration to change and go down by changing RPM that i have the motor set at. Just changing the RPM 10 to 15 RPM with the govenor can work great. Just another Idea.
