Can anyone confirm that the century kestrel is either test run or flown and fuel left in the tank before shipment from the factory

I'm not sure what running it proves anyway? Unless it's simply to ensure it starts before they ship it. But that's not going to prove it flies.....unless they fly it
If it is run where do they do it.....USA or UK?

even if it was test run at factory theres no way they would leave the fuel in the tank infact if they test run it in the factory would they not use an external tank rather than have to fill up each individuel model?

I have a load of spots... two of which are white heads

Hey,

Yes, the CenturyUK Nitro Kestrel is test flown and setup at the factory. Mine showed signs of having been run as there was small drips of fuel/oil from the exhaust in the plastic packaging.

They are started & test flown as they are sold, so as to prove they fly from the box.

Is everything ok with yours, or are you just inquiring?

Do they also chip the canopy, bend the fan hub/starter coupling, and almost cut through the servo leads with a metal clip on the side frames leave fuel in the tank to spill everywhere and get dirt on the tail fin i thought i bought a NEW model

Just so the rest of the world does not wonder about it.

The KESTRAL is NOT a heli manufactured by CENTURY.

It is a small heli manufactured by someone else and imported into the UK only by the UK distributor (CenturyUK) in England. They also import and distribute the real Century manufactured products in that country.

The KESTRAL has NO relationship with Century Helicopter Products in the USA or other countries.

Hey,

Out of the box mine was pretty clean apart from the drips from the exhaust on the plastic packaging and some traces of fuel residue inside the main fuel tank.

The starter adaptor is very short and so I am not sure how and if indeed this could be bent without inflicting real damage on the model. Mine, along with many others has been perfect.

The small metal clip on my model looks to be just clamping the servo wires nicely, without any damage to them.

Where was this model purchased from just out of interest?
As I have said mine came test flown (as they all do) and not in spotless condition with regards to some fuel residue present, but otherwise in A1 condition.

If there was any question on the models condition from the box it should have been returned to the shop you purchased it from for a possible replacement.

Have you flown the model already?

Here is how mine came straight from opening the box.

I picked it up from my local model shop lunch time today took it home unpacked it found the problems took it straight back to the shop thats where it is now awaiting the outcome tomorrow.
the owner was told a replacement would'nt be sent until this one was sent back.
He wasn't happy with that and said he would sort it we wait and see
the cables and one way bearing/starter may well be fine on yours but we are not talking about yours we are talking about the one i bought today

Turbine Master,

Yes indeed we are not talking about my model, I was mearly making references to the very same model which I have in my possession so as to help you in your problems.

Unfortunately and I know this does not help you in any way, but with any warrenty or sub standard replacements the original does have to be seen first.
Not doubting you or anyone else, but it has been seen in the past where the purchaser of an item has inflicted these issues and then tried to claim it was the manufacturer.

From CenturyUK's point of view we do not like to see this kind of issue happen as we'd much rather hear about new customers enjoying their recent purchases.
As a representative of CenturyUK I can only appologise on their behalf and say that this matter will be dealt with in the quickest time possible.

I will highlight this topic to CenturyUK so that they can understand what the situation is before the model arrives back with them.

UPDATE
Had a phone call from my local model shop 10-30 this morning to say a new kit was on the counter waiting for my collection went and picked it up totally different kit, yes it had been run but all was ok,was told to try it over the weekend and if not 100% satisfied to return it to him on Tuesday
That's what I call customer relations instead of being on the defensive all the time.
Was a bit surprised to fine that it wasn't a century product but there you go
P.S. I do think Shaun is misunderstood sometimes

So let me get this straight, you picked up the model, brought it home and found problems, and are posting all this for the whole world to see before the supplier has even had a whole day to make the situation right?
Wow, talk about faith (or lack of it) in your fellow man.

I understand your frustration, but most people here would give the situation a few days to allow the involved parties to rectify it before crying foul to the whole world.

I'll add also, this is the first I've heard of any manufacturer supplying an already test flown, truly ready-to-fly heli. Pretty interesting.

Wow, talk about faith (or lack of it) in your fellow man.

I think the point is that despite the kit being "supposedly" brand new, this particular kit was damaged at some point PRIOR to the customer receiving it. Afer returning it to the shop less than an hour later, and the LHS acknowledging the damage again PRIOR to leaving the shop, the customer is then informed that he can't have a replacement until the damaged one is returned. Absolutely crap service!!!!!
However, in this case the LHS did get a new kit down the following day, but that isn't what the customer was initially told, so well done Century UK.
I think that the USA is probably quicker than the UK in not accepting shoddy goods or service, and the post never started off with denegrating the product, he asked a question

PS No...he's not

Saw Turbine Master putting the Kestral through its paces today and it looked like a dream of a machine. Think he's finally got something he can fly properly! (only joking TM).

A pox on you, 9.81m/s/s

Wow, that is a very cool heli, they even sell it in a package with an aluminum case like a T-rex 450. I wonder where they buy that heli from, and if we can get it here in the states.
