Don't forget to take it off before you fly ;-)

Or you can cut a piece of heat shrink the correct length and slide it onto the main shaft. Heat, then trim as necessary. Does the same thing but you can leave it on because it will not interfere with the swash when flying.

I thought those were a pretty neat idea actually,And so is this.. But I guess you just have the $$ to replace 300$ worth of servos everytime you forget to center the swash before power up,Right?...

What crappy servos are you flying that need to be replaced if you power them up and the swash binds?

I dont think my 8717s would last long running 8v if they got cought in a bind like that.

I've had it happen on 9451s, 9452s, and Ace DS1015s, and they are all fine. Don't leave it sitting there binding forever, it's obvious what happened when you power up, shut it off and and fix the issue. I've left it sitting for a minute before because I wasn't paying attention, and they were still fine (that is on 9451s) You're not going to burn up any servos if it happens, it's just an inconvenience.

I would just say your lucky then...If your not paying attention you could easily get them in a bind and not notice it for minutes,And by then its to late..

Could be, it was well over a year ago that happened, and those same servos are flying in my Vbar 600N still. These servos will take a lot more abuse than we give them credit for.

you implied it..And your comment (in my eyes) was very rude, especially with the ! at the end...

Its a nice idea,I might even use it when I buy the Quick uk swash for the 600N..

Or do a proper visual check, as part of your pre-flight checks

Not sure what heli we are talking about here, but if mine do that, all it means is that I have the washout driver mounted too high. With a proper setup (once again, at least on mine), that can't happen . . .

Not necessarily. There are helis on which this happens when the washout driver is properly positioned for flight operation. It can happen simply because the servo arms don't rotate down as far in operation as they can with no power. It could happen on the Vibe 90 I had although the servos I had in it didn't just arbitrarily drop in this manner.

Usually with most properly designed helis, if your washout arms are level with zero pitch and the linkages lengths are correct per the manual from the bellcranks to the swash this shouldn't happen.

Not always if the heli provides a very wide range of setups, for example see,
