| You have a good eye, Howard. I had to enlarge those pictures to even see the HPI logo. Getting old is hell...
Looks like they hired the same guy Taya did to do the canopy, eh???
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that looked like an all-metal, high-specification machine to me. If so, and they are wanting to break into the market, BAD decision, IMO. They need something to challenge the Raptor's supremacy in the plastic 30 market. Same deal with that Caliber 30. Very few people (in the US, anyway) are going to pay 60 prices for a souped-up 30, no matter how spiffy it is. Just ask AlTech how many Shuttle RGs they've sold... Of course, the machine in that photo may BE a 60; you really can't tell. Did anybody do the translation?
Still, if HPI gets it's muscle behind a project, I don't think anything about it will be half-stepping. I have one of their cars, and overall it's quality is quite a step above most of the competition. I looked at everything available before buying it for my grandson, and after six months of pretty hard use it has been surprisingly durable.
Anyway, it all will be interesting to watch unfold; in the meantime, I'll just happily putz around with my X-Cells...
