Since you're crashing we know that you're still trying. The addiction thing should kick in shortly.

Damn that ground is hard!

I'm having a bad patch of mechanical issues myself right now. Some totally odd and unrelated things with all my helis save the new 500 which is almost ready to maiden. If it is a choice between this and not having my favorite hobby though, I'll take this any day and twice on Sunday.

Yup, I think the term for this is addiction...don't try to help me though, never want to be cured.

Were you working serious on the sim? Just fooling around on it will not help you. And three times sim before going nose-in just does not cut it

Stick with it . The knack to flying rc helis comes slow but each little step is so rewarding ,your fist clean lift of ,your first 3 second hover, your first crab sideways it all adds up and it all sticks.
The little coax helis are great for learning orientation but not a lot else but saying that I can still recall sitting in the middle of the living room floor wondering how hard I had to rev this thing to get it to leave the ground and fearing where it would go once it did.
I was keen and willing to put in the seemingly endless hours glueing broken bits and waiting on new parts for very little flying time .
Along the way I have thrashed a Twister Medivac, Lama V3,EF Sabre and a HoneyBee King in that order all because my wife bought me the Twister in August last year.
Now I have a Blade 400 3D and I am flying , I joined the BMFA and the local MFC at the begining of May and have just bought a new 30 nitro which I will build over the next few months as the pocket money allows .
So stick with it , I am only flying like 10 months and honestly when the flying starts the crashin stops . Good luck

A. Bundy,

I love that pic, I thought I was the only one saving the old parts. Can't decided what it means to keep them though.
