Razz Senior Heliman Location: Louisville, KY
| Augusto just replied to an email I sent him concerning the error for the frame insert. I'm trying to provide a little insight for the pilots that are on the preorder list like me, that want to see this heli succeed. I have been riding this "roller coaster" since the begining, having some faith that it would all work out in the end. Time will tell. There are a lot of good people, that want to see this heli succeed! It sounds like some last minute frame modifications were being made, with the CNC machinery. I can't imagine the difficulty in bringing a high quality 90 heli to market.
QUOTE:
A regular frame insert didn't get missed. Your confusion comes from your assumption that it was one of the regular inserts as used on the servos or the other parts of the frame. This insert was never in the frames until recently when we did it to some of the test machines. This is a new threaded insert that had to be placed because a modification of a part requested by most of the pilots made an M3 locknut impossible to access without major frame dissasembly and the space provided on the new part wouldn't allow an M3 locknut to fit. The production CNC program was modified to add it but for some reason we lost the modification and the one that ran was the previous one without the insert hole. We think that we might have saved the program without this hole over the one with the hole and missed it. It'll be pretty clear why it was needed when people assemble a kit.
