I have a old triton and i have a align 2100 mah lipo. Will it be safe to charge it with that charger? I see where it will do li-ion but not lipo's.

Yes it will work.

Just charge the lipo using the Li-ion settings. I've been doing it for years now. No problems.

I'd rather be flying

I'd recommend charging at 1C on all of your lipos.

So, If you have an 11.1 volt, 2100ma lipo. Set it to Lion, then select 11.1 volts and 2.1 amps. (2100ma = 2.1, 2500ma =2.5) Should take a little over an hour.

yes, 1C. I tried 1.5C and quickly ruined a lipo.

The V1 Triton works perfectly well on LiPo - use the lithium setting with 3.7V per cell (3.7, 7.4, 11.1 and 14.8). The 3.6V per cell settings are for lithium-ion batteries.

If it's a really old Triton, don't use the battery memory feature to store the settings - there is a bug with settings being incorrectly recalled. Later V1s have a software update to fix this and usually have a green dot on the case to mark them as updated.

^yes...the green dot would be on bottom of charger.

btw...holding the menu button down while powering up resets the programming to default values.

my older Triton without a green dot is Ok for lipos as long as I dont store any memory about the battery?

It takes just a sec to punch a button and rotate knob so I never stored any info into the triton anyway.

you should carefully check your settings EVERYTIME with ANY charger!!!

NEver leave your safety up to the computers in these chargers. Always take precautions while charging too!
